How to use the Quotation Generator
- Add your business and the customer's details.
- List items with quantity, rate, discount and GST rate.
- Set the validity date and terms, then download the PDF.
What makes a good quotation
- A quotation number and date, so the customer can refer to it when ordering.
- Clear item descriptions and whether prices include GST.
- A validity date — prices for materials and freight change.
- Delivery time, payment terms and what is not included.
A quotation is an offer, not a tax invoice. When the customer accepts, issue a tax invoice using the Invoice Generator.

Frequently asked questions
Should a quotation include GST?
It's clearer to show GST separately so the customer knows the taxable value and the tax. Say plainly whether prices include or exclude GST.
Is a quotation legally binding?
A quotation is an offer. It generally becomes binding once the customer accepts it and the terms are agreed, for example through a purchase order.
