Frequently asked questions

How do I write 1.5 lakh in words?

₹1,50,000 is “Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand Only”.

Should paise be written on a cheque?

If the amount has paise, write them (e.g. “and Fifty Paise”) and end with “Only”. Many people round cheque amounts to whole rupees to keep it simple.
